Temple Beth
Tikvah sponsors a Senior Youth Group for students in
grades 9-12. SALTY, which stands for Shoreline Alliance
of Temple Youth, does both local and regional events.
SALTY is a chance for you to get to know more Jewish
teens, help out in the community, and become a bigger
part of your temple. The Senior Youth Group is
affiliated with the North American Federation of Temple
Youth (NFTY). Our teens participate in activities with
other Jewish youth from the Greater New Haven area.
Youth activities are a vital part of congregational life
for post Bar/Bat Mitzvah students.
Among the many exciting events are mitzvah
projects, ritual and social programs, organized
meetings, and special fundraising.
We are directly involved in our own
community by making soup at the local soup kitchen,
taking charge of running an annual Purim carnival for
the younger children, writing and leading a special
Shabbat Service, and running the parallel Youth Services
for children in grades K- 6 on Rosh Hashannah and Yom
Kippur.
This year, we expect about 30 members of the TBT youth
group, which would be one of the highest enrollments in
TBT history.
2006 - 2007
President is Sara Lesage, Vice President is Alexa Lee, Secretary is
Rebecca Eppler-Epstein, NFTY Rep is Dan Jaffe, Treasurer
is Zach Levine, Social Action is Noah Fleischman and Ana
Rader is
heading up the Fund Raising.
